Superintendent's Message

March 18, 2021

Greetings Cardinals,

It is incredible how things can change in an instance. One year ago, we were in the middle of the craziest spring break week ever. Each day felt like a week, and by the end of the week, the school was closed indefinitely, and spring sports and extracurricular activities were not to be. A few days later, the country was entering a national shutdown, and we all began to learn all about COVID-19.

Fast forward 12 months and our school is open. Our staff has received their 1st dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine. We are on the verge of playing our 1st varsity baseball game in school history as the OSHS WildCards. Our track teams are preparing to compete in multiple meets throughout the spring. Our scholar bowl team is representing us all with respect in their conference meets. Our FFA students have competed successfully in 2 Career Development Events and are preparing to compete in their district events. Our school district is preparing to host the Missouri Small School Band Directors Association Band Festival with the anticipation of our Cardinal Pride Band dominating the event. We have hosted our annual NHS Induction Ceremony, where we celebrated 10 fantastic students with their families in attendance. Our elementary students have performed their annual play in front of a live audience with incredible skill. It is inspiring to say, #TheNest is open for business, and our students and staff are accomplishing many great things.

As always, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to serve our students and you as members of the Cardinal community.

We look forward to seeing you at #TheNest.
