Stewartsville News

3/22/20

Dear Cardinal families,

As we shared earlier this week, our school is currently closed through April 3 and planning for the return of students on Monday, April 6. That could change as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and its global impact. We understand families have many questions during this time of uncertainty and unexpected school closure. We will provide updates as circumstances change. Below you will find information related to how we are planning to conduct the business of school during this unprecedented closure. Expect frequent communication as we adjust to a new way of facilitating learning.

1*Our teachers are working on finalizing remote learning information. Teachers will contact you and your student/s by Tuesday afternoon with greater detail.

 a. Our students have access to many online resources and learning platforms. Teachers will be providing you and your student/s with the needed login information to access these resources.

 b. If your student does not have internet access, please communicate this to your student’s teachers as they make contact with you. As we receive this information, we will be able to make arrangements to provide them with alternative learning opportunities.

2*Should you have difficulty with technology at any time, please reach out to your student’s classroom teacher. We will make every attempt to resolve the issues.

3*All families throughout the district will have access to free breakfast and lunch during the school closure. Meals will be delivered to your homes. If you would like for us to provide your student/s with meals, please email Mr. Stephenson the following information (student name/grade, home address, a working cellphone number and email address to be used for providing updates) at mstephenson@stewartsville.k12.mo.us.

4*The school building will be open Monday, March 23, from 3:30pm – 5:30pm for families needing to get their child’s medication, instructional device (grades 7-12), or any other essential item left at school. If this time frame does not work for you, please contact the district office at (816)-669-3792 on Tuesday, March 24, between 9:00am and 2:00pm, and we will assist you with getting your student’s items.

We are working to support our families and the Stewartsville community. Even in this time of uncertainty and social distancing, we will continue to provide all of the support we can. If you have further questions or needs, please feel free to contact your student’s teachers, Mrs. Schwope or Mr. Stephenson.

We appreciate everyone’s grace and patience as we navigate these uncharted waters.

Sincerely,

The Stewartsville School District
