Superintendent's Message

November 19, 2020

Happy Thanksgiving Cardinals,

In this time of Thanksgiving, I am reminded through the smiles on the faces of our students, teachers, staff members, and parents as they drop their students off each morning just how fortunate we are to be members of such an excellent school environment and community. Without a doubt, our school community has continued to work together to ensure we are winning each day to provide our students with the best education possible. Speaking of “WINNING,” I want to quote the legendary University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball coach, Pat Summitt, “Winning is a good feeling, but it passes, and what lasts is what you’ve learned. Winning is not the point. Wanting to win is the point. Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you’ve done is the point.”

I believe Coach Summitt’s words sum up the core of all of us as members of the Stewartsville C2 School District because we have a thirst for learning and winning. We never give up, let up, or become satisfied with status-quo. The proof I provide to support this claim is found in each of us in The Nest. We each know that we play a part in each other’s successes and the sweetest of “Cardinal Victories” comes through our grit to overcome failure.

Speaking of cardinal victories, I want to congratulate our Lady WildCards Softball Team for advancing to the Quarterfinal Round of the MSHSAA State Softball Tournament for the first time in school history. I also want to congratulate our Lady WildCards Cross Country Team for their Highway 275 Conference Championship and for qualifying to run in the MSHSAA State Cross Country Championship Meet. I would be remised if I didn’t congratulate our Cardinal Pride Band for their victories in their virtual band competitions this fall. Let’s also not forget our fantastic display of support for our veterans with our out of the box thinking with organizing a drive-thru celebration that allowed us to pay tribute to each of them as heroes. Furthermore, I want to congratulate our students who have received individual awards and recognitions throughout the fall for their on and off-field accomplishments. Most importantly, though, I want to congratulate all of our students, teachers, and staff members for showing up each day ready to make the best of what is most definitely an unprecedented time to be in school.

In closing, on behalf of the school district, I would like to say “Thank You” to everyone in the Stewartsville community for the support you show our students, teachers, and staff.  It is truly a blessing and an honor to serve the community in the capacity of school superintendent.  Thank you for all your support!!!

As always, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I am here to serve our students and you as members of the Cardinal community.

We look forward to seeing you at #TheNest.
