Dr. Johnson and Mr. Stephenson Recognized For Outstanding Leadership

Dr. Johnson was recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) as a "Friends of Education" Award recipient. The Friend of Education Award is presented annually to recognize individuals for their contribution to education locally or statewide. Dr. Bruce Johnson has been dedicated to Missouri public education for 37 years. For 29 years, he worked directly in the school systems as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and principal. Dr. Johnson served as superintendent for seven years at Osborn and 17 years at Stanberry R-2. Since 2013, Dr. Johnson has collaborated with school administrators on tax levies, tax rates, and other financial matters in his role with L.J. Hart. Dr. Johnson is a Stewartsville C2 Alum (1980)

Mr. Stephenson, Superintendent of the Stewartsville C-2 School District, was recognized by the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) for outstanding performance as an emerging superintendent. Mr. Stephenson was nominated for the honor by his colleagues in the Northwest MASA District. The award is presented annually to superintendents who are in their second or third year of employment as superintendent and have made a measurable contribution to the school district which they serve. Mr. Stephenson has served as an administrator in the Stewartsville C2 School District for the past 5 years, with the last 3 years as the district's superintendent.

Both Dr. Johnsona and Mr. Stephenson were honored during the awards banquet at the MASA Spring Conference on March 23rd.
